Melissa Gottlieb
Who better to help you relocate and move than a Bend relocation specialist who knows the city, has first-hand experience moving to and living in Bend, and is well-connected in the community you’re joining?
Four years ago, Melissa Gottlieb, founder of Bend Relocation Services, came to Bend from the East Coast with her husband, two sons, dog, and cat. Now, she uses her own experience and subsequent knowledge gained over the years to help others, like you, move to Bend.
“Moving for anyone is stressful. However, having two school-aged children definitely made the process harder. There was a lot of pressure to get it right the first time so my kids would have a positive experience settling into their new home, school, and city. There were two parts of moving to Bend that were the hardest for me. The first one I refer to as the chicken or the egg. Every neighborhood in Bend is districted to a specific school, and every neighborhood in Bend has a completely different feel, affordability, and accessibility. This made the question of whether to choose the school first or the neighborhood first very overwhelming.

The second hardest part was finding a rental. It’s no secret that the demand for rentals in Bend far surpasses the supply. As a result, this creates a “feeding frenzy” for the small pool of available rentals. So now I had to blindly find a rental in the “right” area, hope that it was the “right” house for us and manage to secure it from across the country while competing against all of the other applicants. This was no way to begin a new life, yet I had no other choice.”
