With so much variety in nighttime entertainment, there’s no end to how you can spend a date night in Bend, Oregon. If you want to plan a fun, romantic night out with your special someone, we happily suggest taking a look at these hot spots and activities.
Pub Trivia
The many pubs and bars of Bend always have entertainment options from stand-up comedy to live local bands. But we want to call out pub trivia in Bend as an especially good (albeit competitive) option for a date night. There are multiple trivia options to choose from throughout the week, including The Lot and Worthy Brewing. It’s a great way to learn more about someone without too much awkward chitchat…as well as making a great double-date option!
Level 2
Bend is filled with amazing restaurants, food carts and other dining options, and most of them will make for a great date night. However, there are a few places we’d like to recommend specifically as great for dates. Level 2 is a second-story cocktail lounge that overlooks Old Mill, the mountains and spectacular Oregon sunset. It features private seating, bar seating and balcony seating for what you feel most comfortable with, and an expansive menu of both cocktails and eclectic cuisine. If you’re eyeing a place for a more traditional nighttime date, this is a great spot!
Games You’ll Both Love
What kind of games do you like? If you like the idea of fooling around with arcades or pool, local options like Atlas Cider are great, or more dedicated shops like Vector Volcano could be worth checking out. If you’re into more traditional tabletop gaming, check out local game shops like Modern Board to see when game nights are held and how to join in!
Kanpai
Another specific shout-out for a restaurant: If sushi is part of your ideal date night, you have to give Kanpai a try. This modern sushi-and-sake bar is designed for romantic nights, with intimate tables, low lighting and delicious drinks, as well as a rotating series of events for entertainment every week. Oh, and the sushi is top-notch, too!
Indie Film Night
If you’re both silver screen fans, why not plan a fun cultural night out to catch an independent film? It gives you something to talk about and makes a great pairing with a beer tasting or stop by a food cart. We especially recommend Tin Pan Theater as the number one stop for indie movies shows, but it’s also good to do your own research and check out what’s currently playing around Bend!
McMenamins Old St. Francis
One last recommendation for a specific restaurant stop: McMenamins is famous for converting old buildings into palatial food-and-drink experiences, and the Old St. Francis location is no exception. It features a small movie theater (with a full-service bar included), a restaurant, a concert venue for local bands, a cigar-and-whiskey pub in a separate backlot location with plenty of bonfires for colder nights and a soaking pool…among other things. You can even take advantage of one the luxurious St. Francis hotel rooms (same day reservations accepted by phone call) with your special someone.
A Night of Snowshoeing
Looking for a more active date at night? Night rides up the lifts at Mt. Bachelor under the stars are romantic, but we’re also big fans of nighttime snowshoeing. Local companies like Wanderlust Tours offer their own nighttime snowshoeing adventures or there are informal snowshoeing groups around Bend that you can contact for more information. It’s a particularly good choice on clear nights with lots of moonlight!
Bend offers so many ways to have a fun, romantic date night with your sweetheart. Call the babysitter and make it a date!
